Hannah kassab

postdoctoral fellow

Dr. Hannah Kassab is a postdoctoral fellow at Indiana University, collaborating with Dr. Heather Ormiston in the Department of Applied Psychology in Education and Research Methodology (APERM). She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Ohio University in 2024 after completing an internship focusing on provision of services in community mental health, local elementary schools, and Head Start programming.

While at Ohio University, Dr. Kassab developed a passion for providing therapy to children and adolescents, with a particular focus on serving underserved and rural populations, LGBTQ+ youth, and families and caregivers of children at risk for externalizing behavior disorders. These experiences deepened her commitment to promoting accessible mental health care and support in community settings.

As a member of the Center for Intervention Research in Schools, Dr. Kassab worked as a teacher consultant and project coordinator to advance evidence-based intervention implementation in southeastern Ohio schools. Her dissertation assessed the preferences of school administrators for social-emotional learning interventions, bridging the gap between research and practice to inform the implementation of evidence-based practices in educational settings.

A proud alumna of Indiana University, Dr. Kassab graduated in 2017 with a B.S. in Psychology, a certificate in Clinical Science, and a minor in Counseling. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, she remains dedicated to improving mental health outcomes and educational opportunities for children and adolescents.
